Parkinson disease






Its not because they are incapable of taking longer strides, if you give someone with Parkinsons external cues such as tape on the ground at bigger distances apart then they will take larger steps. I'm not sure exactly why they take small steps but the basal ganglia disruption will be the cause...its all about basal ganglia-dopamine


Severe dyskinesia in a Parkinsons patient who has been treated with levodopa (naturally-occurring amino acid found in food, converted into dopamine in the brain and body, and administered clinically in the management of Parkinson's disease and dopa-responsive dystonia)
